- Security deposit
- A Booking Deposit is required to reserve and confirm a vehicle. The Booking Deposit is: 50% of the total rental price, up to a maximum of THB 10,000, whichever is lower. Examples: Rental price THB 8,000 → Booking Deposit THB 4,000. Rental price THB 12,000 → Booking Deposit THB 6,000. Rental price THB 30,000 → Booking Deposit THB 10,000. The Booking Deposit forms part of the rental payment and is deducted from the total rental amount. It is not an additional charge and is separate from the refundable Security Deposit. The vehicle is not considered reserved until 3M Car Rental confirms availability and confirms receipt of the required Booking Deposit.
- Who can drive
- Before vehicle handover, the renter must provide: Passport or valid identification document; Valid driving licence; Current contact information; and Rental booking information. Flight details may also be requested where airport delivery or collection is arranged. Driver identification and licence documents are handled as confidential information and are accessible only to authorised staff.
- Insurance
- Vehicles are provided with commercial First Class insurance, subject to the policy terms, exclusions and the applicable driver and rental conditions.
- Delivery and collection
- 3M Car Rental provides free vehicle delivery and collection within agreed areas of Phuket, including airport delivery and collection where arranged and confirmed in advance. Delivery and collection times remain subject to scheduling and confirmation.
- Fuel
- The fuel level will be recorded at vehicle handover. The vehicle must be returned with the same recorded fuel level. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, a refuelling charge may apply, starting from THB 400 per fuel-gauge segment, where applicable. The actual assessment should take account of the recorded handover and return fuel levels. Where incorrect fuel is placed in the vehicle, the renter may be responsible for the actual resulting damage and reasonable associated costs, subject to the circumstances and applicable law.
- Cancellation
- If the renter cancels the confirmed reservation more than 30 days before the scheduled vehicle pickup time, the Booking Deposit will be refunded in full. If the renter cancels 30 days or less before the scheduled vehicle pickup time, the Booking Deposit is non-refundable. Any amount paid in excess of the applicable non-refundable Booking Deposit will be handled separately according to the confirmed booking and circumstances of the cancellation. Cancellation must be communicated to 3M Car Rental through an accepted communication channel so that the cancellation date and time can be recorded.
